Reproduction rights and Mondrian The Trust, which holds the copyrights in the images of Piet Mondrian, authorizes reproductions of images by Mondrian. If you would like to reproduce a Mondrian image, there are two categories of reproduction rights: copyright permission and licensing. Licensing Contracts are granted for reproductions of Mondrian images incorporated in products destined for commercial uses or sale. Licensees generally use a number of images and they commit to a merchandising program spanning several years. Products include any item intended for sale as well as product packaging. Examples are postcards, calendars, scarves, home textiles, rugs, giftware, toys, books about Mondrian. Royalties and advance royalties are paid to the Trust on a fixed schedule.
